About

Parks Neighborhood Parish is an affiliation of small urban churches whose identity is rooted in our conviction that all should be welcomed as they are, and that each of us are broken and need God’s healing and the gift of each other’s presence.

We are a “Reconciling in Christ” community, which means regardless of your age, race, sex, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, sexual identity or gender expression you are welcome here! We really value our diversity and hope you will join us sometime.

Worship

Worship at the Parks Neighborhood Parish is typically Sunday at 10am (see updates and our schedule for any special exceptions), at the building formerly known as “Divine Word Lutheran Church” and is very casual. Services are a mix of modern worship music, old hymns and music from around the world. We are a small congregation, so everyone is invited to get involved in worship– from the very young to the young at heart.

Other Ministries

Sunday worship is only one of our many ministries. The Parks Neighborhood Parish strives to serve the neighborhoods of Sherman Park and Washington Heights. Our building is often open to community events, meetings and performances. Please check our calendar for a full listing of these events. Also, don’t hesitate to contact us if you are interested in using our building to host your organization or event.
